| The SFD membership is made up of Active Members, Life Members, Restricted Members, Active Staff Members, and Staff Members. |
Active Members:
Members shall be residents of the Springwater Fire District whom are eighteen. Active members are required to
preform the full duties of volunteers, including service at fires, emergencies, and attendance at meetings, drills,
schooling of instruction and parades. (Article III. Membership; Section 2. Active Members)

Life Members:
Any Member with 20 years of active service shall be deemed a Life Member of the organization. A Life Member
shall be entitled to voice and vote at all regular and special meetings for as long as a Life Member remains in good
standing as defined by the Bylaws. (Article III. Membership; Section 3. Life Members)
Restricted Members:
To be eligible for membership (restricted) a person shall be at least sixteen years of age and under eighteen years
of age, and a resident of the Springwater Fire District... Parental or legal guardian permission must be obtained
prior to becoming a restricted member. (Article III. Membership; Section 4. Restricted Members)

Active Staff Member:
A member who actively assists with the goals, activities, and functions of the SFD and who participates actively in
no less than three non-meeting functions or activities per calendar year shall be entitled to an Active Staff
Member...Active staff members shall have the right to vote and hold executive office in the organization; no active
staff member may hold any firematic office.(Article III. Membership; Section 5. Active Staff Member)

Social Members:
A social member is one whom participates in Fire Department activities to obtain Social Membership... (This may
include raffles and fund raising activities.) A social member may be either a resident or non-resident of the
Springwater Fire District. Social Members may have no voice or vote in the organization...Social members may not
attend or preform and fire or other emergency duties or any character whatsoever.(Article III. Membership;
Section 6. Social Members)
